Game 3 of the NBA Finals will be the focus of the sports world Wednesday night, but we've still got a loaded MLB slate on the schedule featuring all 30 teams around the league. Let's check out my three favorite strikeout props to target for Wednesday in the MLB.
The Detroit Tigers are not seeing the ball well at Citizens Bank Park this week. In the first two games of their series against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Tigers have mustered just six hits and four runs. They've also struck out 26 times, meaning nearly half of their outs in this series have been via strikeout. Zack Wheeler's K numbers have been down this year, but this is a great spot for a breakout performance, especially at +110 odds.
Jameson Taillon has made six starts since coming off the IL in May. He hasn't surpassed 80 pitches in any of them and has gone past the fifth inning just once. The right-hander has gone over 4.5 Ks twice during that stretch, but both performances came at Wrigley Field. Meanwhile, Taillon is averaging just 3.2 strikeouts in five road starts this year. Take the under at -110.
The Texas Rangers have been mashing the ball lately, as they've scored 7.1 runs per game over their last eight games. I think there's a good chance they chase Jack Flaherty, who's gone seven innings just twice in 11 starts this season, early tonight. Even if they don't, Flaherty's strikeout percentage of 23.1 percent is his second-lowest mark since his rookie year. I'm fine laying the -124 here.
