"ABOVE THE NOISE" will present as a key theme DeRozan's "very public struggle with depression, in the hopes that other people will not suffer alone."
DeRozan has been a notable mental health advocate since publicly disclosing his challenges with depression in 2018 while a member of the Toronto Raptors. The veteran's mental health advocacy platform gained additional awareness in 2024 with the launch of his "Dinners with DeMar" YouTube series.
DeRozan is extension-eligible as the Bulls enter the 2024 offseason. Chicago reportedly offered DeRozan a two-year, $80 million contract extension, but no agreement has been reached yet.
Re-signing DeRozan, among other roster priorities, will be challenging given the Bulls are unlikely to spend more than their $41,358,176.00 luxury tax threshold on a play-in-caliber roster.
