Inter Milan Sporting Director Piero Ausilio admits that Albert Gudmundsson and Joshua Zirkzee would be “difficult” for the Nerazzurri to sign.

The Nerazzurri executive gave his thoughts to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. He spoke about the possible plans for the summer transfer window.

Inter have only just clinched this season’s Serie A title one week ago.

However, off the pitch the Nerazzurri are already starting to plan for next campaign.

There is certainly a priority to keep the existing squad together by and large. At least in terms of the most important players from this season.

However, Inter are also considering making some big name signings that could improve the team.

Two of the names that have been strongly linked recently have been Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson and Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee.

Those two have been among the outstanding attacking players in Serie A this season.

However, that means that neither would come cheap by any means.

And Inter’s financial limitations are not exactly a secret.

Inter Sporting Director Ausilio Admits Gudmundsson & Zirkzee Would Be “Difficult” Signings

Inter Sporting Director Ausilio was asked point blank about Gudmundsson and Zirkzee.

“I’m a big fan of both,” said the Nerazzurri executive.

“But you all know perfectly well how difficult it is to make certain signings in Italy,” he made clear.

Ausilio went on that “They have a lot of quality.”

“But that doesn’t mean that Inter can sign them.”

Then, Ausilio was asked whether Inter are keen to sign any Italian players this summer.

“I like that question,” the Nerazzurri Sporting Director said. “It recognizes the work that we’ve done. We’ve tried to create a hard core of players who feel they belong at Inter.”

Ausilio named “Dimarco, Barella, Bastoni, Frattesi, Asllani.”

“These players are all Inter fans, not just Italian.”

“I’m not just thinking of Italian players,” Ausilio continued. “But all players who have been here for a long time and know the league.”
